Roger Sahyoun is Chairman of the Board of Directors of EPDRC and a graduate engineer from the Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics in Paris. Roger is Chairman of the Somagec Group, a world-class international company established in Morocco in 1967, specialising in the construction of turnkey infrastructure projects (ports, airports, water treatment and transfer, waste collection and treatment, dams, roads and energy), with international qualifications to meet the requirements of governments and the private sector.
Maximilien Munga, a member of the EPDRC Board of Directors, is a civil electrical engineer from the University of Louvain (Belgium), and was strategic advisor to the Minister in charge of drinking water and electricity in the DRC and coordinator of UCM, the Ministry’s Project Coordination and Management Unit. He spent a long career at the head of various state transport companies: public transport, railways and the road network, before heading the DRC’s national electricity company SNEL for more than 10 years.
Emmanuel Chilombo Kalenga is Managing Director of Enterprise Power Zambia Ltd, EPDRC’s affiliate in Zambia. Emmanuel holds a degree in engineering (UNZA) and management from the University of Pretoria. He has over 20 years’ experience in infrastructure projects and mining operations gained with Anglo Amercian Plc. Emmanuel has global experience having worked in the mining industry in Latin America, Asia and Africa.
Marc Orphanides is Managing Director and a co-founder of EPDRC, based in Lubumbashi. Marc’s family has been established in the DRC for four generations and his family business has interests in trading and mining, geological services and logistics.
Marc-Henri Veyrassat is a director and board member of EPDRC. Marc-Henri is a founding partner of Enterprise Power Ltd and has over 30 years’ experience in Zambia and DRC, where he began his career with SGS in Zambia in 1990. Marc-Henri holds a MSc in management from the University of Lausanne.
Nikolai Germann is a director and board member of EPDRC. Nikolai is a founding partner of Enterprise Power Ltd and has over 25 years’ experience in the African energy sector. Nikolai began his career as an oil and gas trader with Addax, where he managed the West and Central African trading desks. Nikolai holds a law degree from the University of Geneva and an MBA from IMD.
Mohamed Mjidou is Director of the Somagec Group’s Energy and Business Development division. He is Technical Director of EPDRC. Mohamed has more than 10 years’ experience in the electricity sector in Europe and Africa and worked for Alcatel as Project Director and Regional Director in Asia and Africa for 22 years, and for Energya pts as General Manager of the Morocco/Africa branch and for Aggreko as Sales and Marketing Director Europ South East/Africa/France Overseas. Mohamed holds a degree in Telecoms Engineering.
Jean Coppens is EPDRC’s Business Development Director. Jean was born in the DRC and began his career as a project manager with Suez Tractebel Engineering on international natural gas, power generation and infrastructure projects for 20 years, before working in the mining industry in southern Africa with BHP Billiton and MMG. Jean holds an engineering degree from the University of Brussels and the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (ULB).
Jean Charles Hayoz is the deputy Managing Director and a member of the Board of Directors of EPDRC. He has 40 years’ professional experience in Africa. After 17 years in Angola, he joined Somagec in 2005. He is Development Director of the Somagec Group, with which he has had several years’ experience in Equatorial Guinea, Morocco and Mozambique, as Administrative and Financial Manager and General Secretary. Jean-Charles Hayoz is a graduate of EHL Lausanne.
