EPDRC trades power across the SAPP

EPDRC obtained its import and distribution licence No CAB/MIN-ERH/008/2017 from the DRC Ministry of Energy and Hydraulic Resources on 15th April 2017.

EPDRC fully owned subsidiary in Zambia, Enterprise Power Zambia Limited was granted its Standard Electricity Trading License No SL/EE/TRN/2024/002/1 by the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) on 02 April 2024.

EPDRC obtained its SAPP Market Participant membership No SAPP/MP05/2024 from the SAPP Executive Committee on 04 April 2024. 

In 2021, EPDRC signed a Power Supply Agreement with the Zambian Electricity Corporation (ZESCO), Zambia’s national electricity company, for the export of 50 MW of capacity.

In 2023, EPDRC and a major DRC mining company signed a power purchase agreement for 50 MW, and, together with Société Nationale d’Electricité (SNEL) a tripartite agreement for the wheeling of electricity on the SNEL grid.

EPDRC has been supplying power to DRC mining companies since August 2023.
